April Stated Meeting
Brethren,
As the first in a series of getting to know the other Masonic Organizations,
we had the Eastern Star ladies grace our Lodge last night. They provided
information about the Order of Eastern Star and answered our questions about
the group. A special thanks to our Junior Warden, Ernie Therriault and his
wife Natalie who are serving this year as Worthy Patron and Worthy Matron of
our local Chapter. Next month we will have representatives from the Scottish
Rite speak to us about their organization. All Scottish Rite Masons please
wear your cap and any appropriate regalia to the May stated meeting.
Thank you to our Deputy Grand Lecturer, Jim Summers, for relaying
information about the local Shrine Club. They will be meeting April 10th at
the Golden Corral at 4:30PM. Contact information is Richard Weaver
cpoweaver@gmail.com.
A reminder to York Rite members the April stated meeting of Golgotha Royal
Arch Chapter is on the 19th at 2:00PM in Hurricane. Contact is Brian
Hastings bj_cahastings@sisna.com.
Work will be under way shortly to run our water main from the street to the
building for the fire sprinkler system. We approved the contract and payment
at the meeting last night. A very big THANK YOU to Bro. Art Kriss for
getting these contracts together, getting the trustees together with the
contractors and helping to move this phase of the project along. It was
anticipated that work on the sprinklers may begin within the next couple of
months. The plans are on their way to Salt Lake for approval and will be
given to the city officials for their approval when they arrive back in St.
George.
We discussed a few dates of upcoming events. Here is a recap:
April 12th. 10:00AM. Practice for the Master Mason degree. Bob Tomlinson's
home.
April 12th. Noon. Meeting to discuss progress on the building. Golden
Corral.
April 19th. 10:00AM Practice for the Master Mason degree second section. Bob
Tomlinson's home.
May 3rd. Outdoor Master Mason degree. We need to discuss what food we will
serve and who is going to be the chef and chef helpers. Dutch oven has been
suggested. We can discuss this on the 12th at the practice.
Everyone please keep Bro. Bob Tomlinson in your prayers. He is going to have
some back surgery soon and we hope it will help eliminate some of his back
pain.
Fraternally,
Terry Lee
Worshipful Master
