Dear Sisters and Brothers:

I want to congratulate all of you for the beautiful initiation last month, the candidates certainly enjoyed it and we may have another initiate later this year because of our fine work.

Two things of importance coming up, is our Grand Lecturer Visit on February 16th and our Grand Visitation on March 29th. Both of these special meeting are on a Saturday between 1-5 p.m. We will have our stated meeting as usual the second Tuesday of the month to take care of business and any practice we may need to iron out any rough spots. So our special meeting will be shorter. We will be balloting and initiating the Olsen's on the 16th. It looks like we will be needing a Martha because Frankie is recuperating and will not be there for that meeting. She has had a rough go of it this last month and I'm sure all are prayers are with her while she gets her strength back.

As to the Grand Visitation on March 29th, we shall be using the Education building behind the church which I believe is larger than the fellowship hall. This I will be checking out myself to make sure. I spoke to the W.G.M Brenda Hansel and the Grand Chapter is excited and anxious to see us all again and share in our warm hospitality. I may be doing some calling for volunteers to help plan this because I will need all the help I can get. I want this to be a memorable event for all of us.

Now a word about our dresses, It seems as if some have a tradition of wearing white at an initiation, but according to the W.G.M. this is up to the discretion of the W.M. I choose these dresses to give us a beautiful, colorful and cohesive look for the chapter and with the bouquets at the back of each star point pedestal. It gives a very nice display for the initiates or visitors to our chapter. If any of you wish to discuss this with me I will be glad to consider other options. But for now let's all pull together and support the wishes of your W.M.

Star Love,
Natalie, W.M.

It was great to see two new members initiated in the last meeting and I appreciated everyone’s efforts in making this happen.

We’ll probably be having two more initiations for the Grand Lecturer’s visit in February (just think—no proxy candidates—but “real” ones!) so let’s practice our parts so that we can show Jennifer Lee how proficient Silver Reef Chapter can be.

I appreciate the brothers who’ve been helping with setting up and taking down the Chapter room. It’s lots of work but with several men, the process can go quickly.

The refreshments provided by Joan and Bob Kupczyk—pies and ice cream—provided a nice finishing touch to our last meeting. A special thanks to them.

Hope to see everyone at our February meeting.
